President Yoon’s ‘Camp David Accords’ Is a “Pinnacle of Our Diplomacy”… “Lee Administration Is Deceiving the International Community,” He Laments 

“Our Path to Survival Lies in Patriotic Citizens Uniting, Exercising the Right of Resistance, and Eliminating the Left Through the ROK-U.S. Alliance” 

Amidst concerns that the Korean Peninsula is in danger of being reduced to China's "prey" and "vassal state," an analysis has been presented suggesting that the Donald Trump administration is using tariff negotiations to curb China's aggressive hegemony and reshape the international order. 

Shin Dong-chun, Representative of the National Union for Freedom and Unification (Ph.D. in Public Administration), presented this analysis at a seminar titled "The Turbulent Domestic/International Situation and Freedom-based Unification of the Korean Peninsula," held at the Korea Christian Association Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 26th, stating, "Just as the Soviet Union collapsed during the Reagan era, there is hope that China is highly likely to collapse during the Trump era." 

In his presentation titled "Turbulent Domestic and International Situations," Dr. Shin explained China's unrestricted warfare and pointed out, "After Canada and Australia, China views the Republic of Korea as its easiest target, and we are currently in danger of becoming a Chinese vassal state. Since the Lee Jae-myung regime has effectively declared a pro-China stance, the Korean Peninsula is at its most vulnerable, serving as prey for China." 

He further elaborated on the resetting of the international order via the Trump administration’s tariff negotiations and the failures of U.S. globalists, stating, "One must not mistake U.S. tariff negotiations for standard trade discussions. President Trump is using tariffs as a tool to reset all economic and security issues." 

He explained it simply, stating, "It is a question of whether you are part of the free world and whether you will listen to the U.S.," and predicted, "Will we be able to receive favorable tariff treatment? Unless we (the Lee Jae-myung regime) completely raise the white flag and surrender, things will not go our way." 

Dr. Shin remarked, "The Republic of Korea is an ungrateful nation. It achieved freedom and prosperity under the ROK-U.S. alliance, yet it does not show gratitude and is now heading toward communism; how pathetic a country it is." He also recalled the historical fact of the defeat in the Korean War caused by the intervention of the Chinese Communist Party. 

He emphasized, "The only path for our survival now is for patriotic citizens to unite, exercise our right of resistance, hold hands with the U.S. through the ROK-U.S. alliance, and eliminate the leftists. I firmly assert there is no other way." 

In the second part of the event, Chae Won-am, former South Korean Consul General to Berlin, presented on the topic of "The Approaching North-South Unification," comparing it to an industrial revolution for Korea. 

Former Consul General Chae cited factors such as a single ethnic identity, the restoration of national territory, the recovery of freedom and human rights for North Korean brethren, the establishment of peace on the peninsula, and the opportunity to grow into a major power as the justifications for unification. He also appealed to the younger generation, who are reportedly becoming increasingly indifferent to unification, by highlighting the economic benefits. 

"With a per capita income of $35,300 in 2022, South Korea has entered the ranks of developed nations, and its GDP is 60 times that of North Korea," he stated. "Unification can bring about a North-South industrial revolution by combining North Korea's labor force and mineral resources—valued at a staggering 7,000 trillion won—with South Korea's capital and technology." He emphasized, "Just as the Industrial Revolution occurred in 16th-century Britain, we can expect not only the effects of economic democratization but also a resolution to the left-right conflict and solutions to low birth rates and youth unemployment." 

"We are currently at a historical crossroads: whether to achieve unification or not, and whether to remain a peripheral nation or become a center of the world," he said. "When evaluating history from ancient times, this is an opportunity given to us in 2,000 years." He encouraged the audience, saying, "Compared to China, we live 4 to 5 times better. We have nothing to fear from China. We must have the confidence that we can win on our own. We must take pride and move toward unification." 

Chae added, "Research suggests that North-South unification is only possible when China's power wanes, which would also present an opportunity to recover the old territories in the three Northeast provinces." He warned against complacency, noting, "I believe the participation of some in the People Power Party in the impeachment of President Yoon was due to financial maneuvering by China." 

However, he added, "One must distinguish between China and the Chinese Communist Party. China is a cultural pattern, and the term 'China' used by Chiang Kai-shek has not been in use for long. The person currently in power (Xi Jinping) represents the Chinese Communist Party, so do not confuse the two."

During the open discussion, participants agreed that while the confrontation between the free world and the communist totalitarian bloc is intensifying in the new Cold War era, the continued weakening of totalitarian forces suggests a shift in the situation that could favor the unification of the Korean Peninsula.

There was a consensus that Russia is on a steep path of economic and military decline following its invasion of Ukraine as NATO's defensive resolve strengthens, and that China is also expected to weaken significantly as anti-China sentiment and countermeasures spread globally.

Interpretations were also offered that Kim Jong-un’s superficial hardening of North Korea's status as a nuclear power and his stated opposition to unification reflect a judgment that regime survival is difficult and that North Korean-style unification is unattainable.

Furthermore, as the peninsula marks 80 years of division, it was suggested that just as the free world defended the Republic of Korea during the Korean War, the solidarity of the free world—anchored by the ROK-U.S. alliance—remains intact, and that free unification can be achieved if Chinese intervention is blocked in the event of a sudden change in North Korea.

Prior to the first session, Lee Jae-chun, former South Korean Ambassador to Russia and Standing Advisor to the National Union for Freedom and Unification, delivered a congratulatory address in which he termed President Yoon Suk-yeol’s August 2023 Camp David Accords a "pinnacle of our diplomacy." 

Advisor Lee stated, "The Camp David Accords signify that the leaders of the ROK, U.S., and Japan have reached a consensus to strengthen security cooperation through a value-based alliance of freedom, human rights, and the rule of law." He added, "The most brilliant clause in the declaration is the support for a free and peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula, meaning that the leaders of the U.S. and Japan are working together toward the goal of the Republic of Korea as stipulated in our Constitution—this is a monumental historical development." 

However, he lamented the reality of the Lee Jae-myung government’s behavior at the UN, stating, "We are witnessing an astonishing reality where they are deceiving the international community." 

The seminar was attended by Lee Jeong-shin, leader of the "O.I.Park.Sa" group; Noh Young-woo, Chairman of the Central High Patriotic Comrades Association; Choi Jong-dae, Chairman of the All-Military Salvation Comrades Association; North Korean defector and gospel singer soprano Kang Eun-jung; and Oh Jung-keun, Director of the Free Market Research Institute and President of the Korea Finance ICT Convergence Society. 

In particular, the attendees repeatedly emphasized that the hope for the Republic of Korea lies in the MZ generation, who have awakened following the December 3rd enlightenment.

Lee Jeong-shin of "O.I.Park.Sa" stated, "Through President Yoon's enlightenment, the young generation has awakened. Groups like the Free University, Students' Voice, and the Torch Youth Corps are rising up and taking the lead in cities across Korea. Seeing their rallies, I believe there is still hope for the Republic of Korea." 

Like the youth of the current MZ generation, "O.I.Park.Sa" is evaluated as a patriotic civil group born from persistent activism on the streets. It originated from holding rallies on floor mats in front of the prison to protest the injustice of former President Park Geun-hye’s impeachment and continues to call for the nullification of the impeachment and the restoration of her honor. The name is an acronym for a group that "Only loves Presidents Syngman Rhee, Park Chung-hee, and Park Geun-hye." 

Additionally, Noh Young-woo, Chairman of the Central High Patriotic Comrades Association, encouraged the group by saying, "Two weeks ago, I watched a movie called 'Era Spirit,' which shows the reality of Hong Kong being taken over by China. While President Yoon may have various successes and failures, we must acknowledge his contribution in awakening the young generation through martial law, which is now spreading from the 2030 generation to the teens." 

Noh, who supported the posting of street banners last year and is currently providing aid to patriotic civil groups and youth suffering from the 1.19 incident at the Western District Court, earnestly urged the older generation to awaken and actively support the cause, stating, "In order to pin our hopes on the youth, the older generation must also spare no effort."
