U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 29th (local time) that he is "very confident" about the possibility of ending the Gaza war, which has been ongoing for nearly two years between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

When asked by reporters whether he was confident that peace would soon come to the Gaza Strip while welcoming visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House that day, President Trump replied, "Yes. I am very confident."

He also expressed "great confidence" when asked if all parties involved agreed to the 21-point "Gaza Peace Initiative" that he had proposed to leaders of countries in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Netanyahu also responded positively to President Trump's peace initiative in an interview with Fox News the previous day, stating, "I hope it can be implemented."

This meeting at the White House marks the fourth between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu since the launch of the second Trump administration.

The two are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at the White House following their bilateral talks and luncheon.

Attention is focused on whether an agreement to end the Gaza war will be announced at this event.

President Trump has recently indicated on several occasions that the possibility of ending this war has significantly increased, noting that he has been engaged in intensive negotiations with Middle Eastern nations regarding the Gaza peace plan.
