This year’s Harvest Moon (Chuseok full moon) will rise at 5:32 PM on the 6th (based on Seoul time).

According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute on the 1st, the moon will reach its highest point at 11:50 PM on the same day, and it will become a perfectly full moon—when it is positioned exactly opposite the sun—at 12:48 PM on the 7th, the day after Chuseok.

However, because this occurs during the day, the fully round moon will not be visible.

The institute explained that the full moon seen on the night of Chuseok will appear slightly less than perfectly round, with the left side not yet fully illuminated.

Moonrise times for other major cities besides Seoul are as follows: 5:33 PM in Incheon and Gwangju, 5:30 PM in Daejeon, 5:26 PM in Daegu, 5:24 PM in Busan, and 5:31 PM in Sejong.
