Guro District in Seoul is offering a digital-based, hands-on educational program for children enrolled in the Dream Start program, aiming to foster career exploration in the 4th industrial revolution fields and enhance creativity.
Dream Start children are participating in a digital drawing class.
Guro District (Mayor Jang In-hong) announced that it will run a '4th Industrial Revolution Program' for eight sessions every Wednesday from July 9th to August 27th, targeting nine elementary school students in higher grades. The education will take place in the Creative Convergence Education Room at the Guro Creative Culture and Arts Center, featuring hands-on programs such as digital drawing and digital video editing.
This program is designed to enhance the creativity of Dream Start children and cultivate their problem-solving skills. It aims to provide opportunities for self-directed career exploration through understanding the rapidly changing future society and experiencing the world of work.
The July sessions will include drawing activities using various digital design tools such as Wacom, Canva, and Magma. In August, video content creation education, including vlog production and promotional video editing, will continue using the CapCut program. Through these activities, children will have the opportunity to directly experience the professions of digital designer and video creator.
Through this type of education, the district plans to go beyond simple experiences to bridge the digital divide and lay the foundation for nurturing creative and convergent talent.
Jang In-hong, the Mayor of Guro District, stated, "I hope this program will be an opportunity for Dream Start children to not only gain experience but also discover their potential and independently explore their career paths," and added, "We will continue to identify specialized educational programs for future generations."
