Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued on the 9th (local time) that U.S. President Donald Trump, who brokered the Gaza ceasefire agreement, should receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Prime Minister's Office of Israel, in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on the day before the Nobel Peace Prize winner announcement, mentioned President Trump's X account '@realDonaldTrump' and wrote, "Give him the Nobel Peace Prize, he deserves it."

The post was accompanied by a photoshopped image of President Trump wearing a golden Nobel Prize medal and raising both hands, with Prime Minister Netanyahu smiling beside him. The image also included the phrase "peace through strength" and the national flags of both the United States and Israel.

Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed the agreement, stating, "This is a great day for Israel."

After speaking with President Trump, he emphasized, "I thank President Trump for his leadership, cooperation, and unwavering commitment to Israel's security and the freedom of our hostages," adding, "This is a diplomatic success and a national and moral victory for the State of Israel."
