Korea Gas Corporation (CEO Choi Yeon-hye) announced on the 15th that it will implement the '2025 Onnuri Silver Sharing Project' to create jobs for the elderly and improve welfare for vulnerable groups in the community.

Gas Corporation to Fully Implement 2025 Onnuri Silver Sharing Project

This project is Korea Gas Corporation's flagship social contribution project, where seniors aged 60 and above who wish to work regularly cook side dishes and deliver them directly to vulnerable individuals at risk of skipping meals, while also checking on their well-being.

Korea Gas Corporation will support this project with a donation of 200 million won. The implementing organization, Daegu Council for Social Welfare, recently completed the recruitment of beneficiaries for 10 social welfare facilities in Daegu and will fully engage the Onnuri Silver Business Group activities until December.

Notably, this year, the plan is to expand the scope of beneficiaries from seniors to include individuals with disabilities and children, thereby enhancing the project's impact.

Since 2019, through the Onnuri Silver Sharing Project, Korea Gas Corporation has provided employment to 291 seniors in Daegu and supported 899 vulnerable individuals with healthy side dishes, contributing to the improvement of local welfare.

In addition, prior to the full commencement of activities, the Daegu Council for Social Welfare will collaborate with the Daegu City Hygiene Policy Division to conduct joint hygiene inspections of the side dish preparation facilities to ensure food safety during the summer season.

The hygiene inspection, conducted until the 15th, involved professional personnel from the child and social welfare foodservice management support centers within Daegu. The inspection included checks on ▲cleanliness of the cooking environment ▲condition of cooking utensil management ▲hygiene clothing and food ingredient storage, as well as on-site feedback and recommendations.

A representative from Korea Gas Corporation stated, "This project has a high synergistic effect by simultaneously considering job creation for the elderly and improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups." He added, "We will continue to discover and support social contribution projects that can be felt by the public through close cooperation with local governments and specialized organizations."
