The People Power Party officially launched its Local Election General Planning Team on the 10th to reorganize its structure ahead of the June 3rd local elections next year.
At the National Assembly on the same day, after holding an award ceremony for the Local Election General Planning Team, leader Jang Dong-hyuk opened the first meeting and emphasized, "Next year's local elections are elections that will determine the fate of South Korea, and it may not be easy unless we approach them with extraordinary resolve."
He then urged, "I believe this is an election we cannot win without sacrifice. Please consider together how we can make sacrifices and how we can impress the public."
Representative Na Kyung-won, a five-term lawmaker who heads the planning team, said, "Next year's local elections are an election where we must win to protect South Korea and its people. Although it is an election held one year after the administration's launch, it will inevitably become an election to judge the administration."
She added, "The most important thing is how we can attract outstanding talent. We will create a general framework for the nomination system that can attract talent like clouds. We will also develop policies that are tangible and can effectively address not only people's livelihoods but also safety, and create a system where not only candidates run on their own but the central and provincial party organizations can provide full support."

The People Power Party also officially launched its Special Committee on Semiconductor and AI Advanced Industries and its Special Committee on Stock and Digital Asset Value-Up on the same day.
Yang Hyang-ja, a former executive at Samsung Electronics, was appointed chairwoman of the Special Committee on Semiconductor and AI, while Kim Sang-hoon, a four-term lawmaker, was appointed chairman of the Special Committee on Stock and Digital Asset Value-Up.
At the first meeting of the Special Committee on Semiconductor and AI, leader Jang criticized, "The Lee Jae-myung administration is hindering the development of the semiconductor industry. While we should be swiftly passing the Semiconductor Special Act and providing full support, they are stubbornly opposing the exception for the 52-hour workweek out of concern for the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions."
He added, "The People Power Party is different. We will create concrete and practical policies to help South Korea leap forward as a dominant power in semiconductors and a leading nation in AI."
At the first meeting of the Special Committee on Stock and Digital Asset Value-Up, he emphasized, "The Lee Jae-myung government shouts 'Kospi 5,000' with their mouths, but pushes legislation that goes in the opposite direction of 'Kospi 5,000.' The People Power Party will do its best to ensure that Kospi 5,000 becomes a reality through substantive policies, not an empty slogan, to protect and increase the assets of the people." Yonhap News
