2 individuals detained in Cambodia repatriated via Incheon Airport... 59 remain

Two South Koreans detained in Cambodia were repatriated on the 17th via a national carrier. So far, 4 out of 63 individuals have been repatriated, leaving 59 individuals still detained.


According to the National Police Agency, the two South Koreans, who were detained by the Cambodian Immigration Bureau, arrived on Korean soil at Incheon International Airport on the morning of the 17th.


They were reportedly apprehended during Cambodian police raids on crime complexes.


A police official stated, "We are continuing discussions for the swift repatriation of the remaining individuals," adding, "There is no confirmed repatriation plan yet."


The Cambodian National Police announced in a statement the previous day that they plan to deport the 59 detained South Koreans to their home country on the 17th (local time) in cooperation with the South Korean Embassy in Cambodia.


The government is reportedly coordinating with local authorities to deploy a chartered flight to bring back the detained South Koreans all at once.
