The special prosecutor team investigating sedition was reportedly raiding the home of Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn (former Prime Minister) of the new Liberty and Innovation Party on the 27th. 

The special prosecutor team announced through a press release on this day that they were executing a search and seizure warrant on the former Prime Minister Hwang's residence. The team stated, "This case was referred after a complaint was filed with the police on charges of sedition propaganda and incitement," adding, "It is difficult to confirm the specific charges."

Previously, the police initiated searches and seizures of current and former executives of the 'Anti-Corruption and Election Fraud Prevention Group (Bugbandae)' with the aim of proving allegations that Representative Hwang had used Bugbandae's national organization for his election campaign during his independent candidacy in the 21st Presidential Election (violation of the Public Official Election Act), sparking controversy over political retaliation and targeted investigations.
