A survey result showed that if early morning delivery services in the distribution industry are suspended or reduced, more than half of consumers will feel inconvenienced. The absolute majority of consumers who have experienced using the service at least once intend to continue using it.

Consumers Together and the Korea Consumer Organizations Network announced on the 30th that this was revealed through an online survey conducted from July 24th to August 14th with 1,000 consumers commissioned to the research firm The Brain.

Among respondents, the proportion who answered that they would feel inconvenienced if the early morning delivery service were suspended or reduced reached 64.1% ('will be very inconvenient' 19.9%, 'will be somewhat inconvenient' 44.2%).

'Neutral,' meaning no opinion, accounted for 26.5%, and the response that they would not feel inconvenienced was only 9.4% ('will not be very inconvenient' 3%, 'will not be somewhat inconvenient' 6.4%).

Of the respondents who had used early morning delivery at least once, 98.9% answered that they would continue to use the service in the future.

The response 'satisfied' with the early morning delivery service reached 71.1% (very satisfied 23.6%, somewhat satisfied 47.5%). 'Dissatisfied' accounted for only 1.3%.

Respondents said they would feel the greatest inconvenience in 'grocery shopping' (38.3%) if early morning delivery were suspended. They also answered that they would experience inconvenience in 'daily life' (28%), 'leisure activities' (14.3%), 'childcare' (14.2%), and 'pet management' (5.1%).

'Working moms,' who accounted for 28.1% of all respondents, cited 'grocery shopping' (32.1%) and daily life (26.8%) as areas where they would experience inconvenience if early morning delivery and 7-day-a-week delivery were prohibited, followed by childcare and support for children's studies (21.6%).

Amid the launch of the 'Delivery Social Dialogue Council' last month, the labor sector proposed restricting late-night deliveries, while the distribution and logistics industries, centered on e-commerce, have stated that they find it difficult to accept, expressing concerns about consumer inconvenience and a decrease in logistics jobs.
