Angry crowds are setting fires amid allegations of fraudulent elections in Tanzania's presidential election. /Newsmax Online Capture. 

Protests against alleged fraudulent elections are intensifying daily following the re-election of the incumbent president with 97.66% of the vote in Tanzania's presidential election, held without the participation of the two main opposition parties. 

According to foreign media reports, the Tanzanian Electoral Commission officially announced the incumbent president's overwhelming victory in the presidential election held amid fairness concerns on the 1st (local time). 

Tanzanian citizens protested against the unfair and fraudulent election, launching large-scale demonstrations nationwide centered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's largest city, setting fire to vehicles, gas stations, and police stations. 

The situation worsened as military and police forces were deployed to suppress the protests, resulting in civilian casualties during violent clashes. 

This presidential election was a half-hearted affair, with the leaders of the two main opposition parties imprisoned or disqualified from running. 

Tundu Lissu, leader of the opposition CHADEMA party, issued a statement after the Electoral Commission's official vote count was released, stating, "There has been massive fraud," and strongly declared his rejection of the results, saying, "The election results are baseless and not a true election." 

According to foreign media reports, all domestic flights in Tanzania have been canceled due to the nationwide protests, causing traffic chaos and distress for foreign travelers. 

However, the Tanzanian government has not disclosed the number of casualties from the violent incidents. 

Amnesty International reported two deaths on the 29th of last month, followed by the UN Human Rights Office, which stated it had credible reports of 10 deaths by the 31st and urged the Tanzanian military and police to refrain from excessive use of force. 

Tanzanian citizens living abroad are closely monitoring the situation in their home country through social media platforms like X and are discussing ways to provide financial support to the protesters.
