Integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Safety Device 'SoS HOME' Based on Sound Field Sensor
Rosé AI (CEO Cho Young-jin), a company specializing in disaster prevention and response solutions, announced that it has jointly developed the world's first AI safety device, 'SoS HOME,' that detects fires using sound, in collaboration with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). This product showcases an innovative technology capable of early detection of hazardous situations such as fires, intrusions, and gas leaks by sensing sound waves (sound fields).
Leveraging its accumulated references from past projects like the wireless fire detection system 'SmartCol' and digital twin/AI integrated control systems, Rosé AI has grown into a platform-based safety company that encompasses prediction, prevention, real-time detection, and notification to relevant parties with the integration of the sound field sensor. It acts as an invisible radar created by sound, preventing fires before they start and blocking risks at the sign stage. This is the basic common sense of next-generation safety that Rosé AI pursues.
'SoS HOME' is an integrated device comprising a microphone, speaker, and signal processing unit. It actively 'scans' the indoor environment. The speaker generates sound fields of various frequencies, and the sound field sensor detects changes, monitoring the entire space in real-time. It can detect blind spots missed by conventional infrared sensors or CCTV, and even pick up small flames originating from under a desk or early low-heat fires with minimal temperature changes, which are often missed by traditional fire detectors.
'SoS HOME' is easy to install and quickly detects dangers within the home, serving as a family safety guardian. By integrating this technology with existing fire warning systems, it is being expanded to various fields including AI-based early warning, survivor voice tracking, industrial facilities (SoS Factory), public facilities (SoS City), and nursing/medical facilities (SoS Care). To lower the barrier to installation and operation, Rosé AI also plans to pursue supply chain diversification strategies such as partnerships with unmanned security services and simultaneous deployment across online and offline channels.
From a market perspective, Rosé AI plans to launch modular products that can be integrated with IP cameras, car black boxes, and IoT security systems. The NASDAQ listing process (SEC file number assignment) for North American market entry is in its final stages. By building the capital and trust infrastructure necessary for large-scale certification, distribution, and after-sales service networks, the company plans to expand its market reach to Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
A representative from Rosé AI stated, "We will productize the concept of a sound-based AI detection robot, or 'Soundbot,' and set a new standard for sound field sensor technology in the global market." We anticipate Rosé AI's success in dominating the global market for AI fire prevention in South Korea.
