Cho, a man in his 60s, who went on a stabbing spree at the Cheonho-dong redevelopment union office in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, is being sent to prosecutors on remand on the 13th. Yonhap News
A former union chairman who committed a stabbing spree at the Cheonho-dong redevelopment union office in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, killing one person and seriously injuring two others, is being sent to prosecutors on remand on the 13th.
The Seoul Gangdong Police Station announced on the 12th that Cho, a 66-year-old man who wielded a knife against union officials at the union office around 10:20 AM on the 4th, causing injuries to three people, will be sent to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office on remand on the 13th.
Cho, the former union chairman, was booked in July for alleged sexual assault of one of the injured parties and was dismissed from his position. The prosecution summarily indicted Cho on charges of indecent assault on the 31st of last month, four days before the incident, and Cho was arrested on the 4th as a suspect in murder and attempted murder.
Subsequently, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office, after conducting a suspect interrogation prior to arrest (warrant examination) on the 6th for murder and attempted murder charges, issued an arrest warrant, stating, "There is a risk of evidence tampering and a risk of flight."
It is reported that Cho voluntarily waived his participation in the pre-arrest interrogation (warrant examination) scheduled for that day.
