Former Media Watch CEO Hwang Ui-won

Hwang Ui-won, former CEO of Media Watch, who had been engaged in a truth campaign for over nine years regarding the tablet PC, has passed away. 

Media Watch reported on the afternoon of the 15th, "Struggling with the Seoul Central District Court's Appellate Division 4-2 judges Eom Cheol, Yoon Won-mook, and Song Jung-ho's indiscriminate rejection of evidence of tablet manipulation, CEO Hwang committed suicide by hanging himself near Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province."

In his official will, former CEO Hwang stated, "The impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye at the end of 2016 and early 2017, which was linked to the Choi Soon-sil tablet, was a fabricated case orchestrated by JTBC and the prosecution's special prosecutor, not only in terms of the evidence itself but also the entire process of how each piece of evidence was obtained. Heaven knows, Earth knows, and surely, the citizens of South Korea all know this in their hearts."

He further argued, "Due to the tyranny of the courts throughout history, Media Watch has endured an utterly unreasonable and unfair criminal trial for over seven years, from the first instance to the appellate court, where we were never even allowed a formal expert appraisal of the original 'Choi Soon-sil tablet' itself. At the very least, the criminal trials conducted by judges at the level of petty thugs like Judge Eom Cheol must cease immediately."

Media Watch released the official will, stating, "The appellate court judges of the Seoul Central District Court's Appellate Division 4-2, including Eom Cheol, Yoon Won-mook, and Song Jung-ho, have indiscriminately rejected JTBC's forged new contract report and the evidence related to the second tablet manipulated by Han Dong-hoon, proceeding with a one-sided trial solely for the purpose of covering up the tablet manipulation crime. Despite protests by former CEO Hwang Ui-won and CEO Byun Hee-jae up to the Supreme Court under Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, the trial proceeded without a single corrective measure, and the sentencing was scheduled for the 24th of this month."

Former CEO Hwang pledged, "The entire nation witnessed JTBC's erroneous broadcast report, and the flawed investigative and trial materials remain as they are. "Even in heaven, I will strive for a just judgment in the impeachment case of former President Park." "I will strive for the restoration of truth, freedom, human rights, and the rule of law in South Korea."

Meanwhile, Byun Hee-jae, CEO of Media Watch, who has been engaged in a truth campaign with former CEO Hwang for 10 years, claimed, "When the judges of the Seoul Central District Court's Appellate Division 4-2, Eom Cheol, Yoon Won-mook, and Song Jung-ho, unconditionally rejected the evidence of tablet manipulation crimes, siding with money and power, former CEO Hwang suffered greatly." He further stated his position: "I will stake my remaining life to definitely judge and eradicate the prosecutors and judges who have aligned themselves with the tablet manipulation criminal organization."

The funeral arrangements for former CEO Hwang will be made in consultation with his family and Media Watch.
