President Donald Trump urged House Republicans to vote to "release the Epstein files," stating that the nation "needs to move on from this Democrat Ruse."
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said it was more important for Republicans to "get back to business" and focus on his administration's achievements, such as securing the Southern Border, deporting illegal aliens, and protecting women's sports from biological males.
He wrote in his post, "As I told the Fake News Media on Air Force One on Friday night, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files because we have nothing to hide, and it is time to move on from this Democrat Ruse perpetrated by radical left fanatics who are trying to use it as an excuse to avoid the tremendous success of the Republican Party, especially our victories in the Democrat 'Shutdown'."
President Trump noted that the Department of Justice (DOJ) "has already released tens of thousands of pages of material on Epstein to the public," and added that they are "looking into the 'connections' that Democrats have, including former President Bill Clinton and Democrat mega-donor Reid Hoffman, with Epstein."
President Trump had previously stated via Truth Social on Friday, the 14th, that he would ask Attorney General Pam Bondi to "investigate the connections" of Epstein, Clinton, Hoffman, and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
Trump said, "Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive, and if the Democrats had something they would have released it before the landslide," adding, "Some of our 'Republicans' are being 'played,' and we cannot let that happen."
"Let's talk about the Republican record-breaking achievements and not fall into the Epstein 'trap'," he added, "Epstein is a curse on the Democrats, not on us. Let's Make America Great Again!"
Trump's post comes as a "discharge petition" seeking to compel the Department of Justice to release additional Epstein-related documents has reportedly received its final signatures. According to the New York Post, it has received the support of House Democrats and Republican lawmakers (including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina).
