Cyber Operations Command Participates in US-Led 'Cyber Flag' Exercise

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Jung-hyun = The Cyber Operations Command will participate in the international cyber exercise 'Cyber Flag,' the Ministry of National Defense announced on the 21st.
This exercise, led by the US Cyber Command, will be held from the 21st to the 25th (local time) at the National Cyber Training Center in Virginia, USA.
Seven members from the Cyber Operations Command will participate in the exercise to master defensive operation procedures in preparation for cyberattacks targeting infrastructure and to share threat information among participating countries.
Cyber Flag is an exercise held annually since 2011 by the United States to strengthen partnerships among its allies and friendly nations, centering on the 'Five Eyes' intelligence alliance including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The South Korean military has been participating for the fourth consecutive year since 2022.
The Ministry of National Defense stated, "We plan to continuously develop the cybersecurity cooperation relationship between the two countries through Cyber Flag exercises, as well as joint US-ROK Cyber Command cyber alliance exercises, and exchanges of cybersecurity professionals and technologies."
