The article published by the Hankyoreh Daily, urging support for the legal defense fees of former National Military Intelligence Command Chief Noh Sang-won, who was sentenced to two years in prison and a fine related to the December 3rd state of emergency, led to the full fundraising goal being met in just two days through public support. The fundraising campaign for Noh Sang-won, initiated by the Hankyoreh Daily, reached its target amount in just two days.

An article appeared in the Hankyoreh Daily on the 16th, calling for contributions to cover the legal defense fees for Noh Sang-won, former Chief of the National Military Intelligence Command, who was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay a fine of 24.9 million won in connection with the December 3rd state of emergency.

This morning, just two days after the article was published, a request to "please remove the account number" was conveyed to the Hankyoreh Daily by an acquaintance of former Commander Noh, stating that the fundraising goal had been met.

On the 15th, the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Agreement Division 21 (Presiding Judge Lee Hyun-bok) sentenced former Commander Noh to two years imprisonment not for sedition, but for charges related to information leaks and bribery.

In response, various social media platforms initiated fundraising campaigns to cover former Commander Noh's legal fees and forfeiture, with many voicing opinions that the special prosecutor's investigation and the court's verdict were unjust.

However, the Woori Bank account known to the public was a deposit account, which had a daily deposit limit, causing distress to the patriotic citizens supporting former Commander Noh.

Consequently, the Hankyoreh Daily obtained the account number through Dr. Jang, an acquaintance of former Commander Noh, and reflected it in the article.

Dr. Jang stated, "Thanks to the support of many people, the legal defense fees have been fully raised. We received word from the family that it would be best to remove Noh Sang-won's personal account number." He added, "On behalf of General Noh and his family, I express our gratitude to the citizens."

In light of this, the Hankyoreh Daily decided to remove the Kookmin Bank account for Noh Sang-won from the previous article. However, as the deposit-only account number has been widely shared in photos, it is anticipated that contributions from those who cherish former Commander Noh will continue to arrive.
