The Minister of Justice, who oversees law and investigations, has been reported to the police on suspicion of illegally receiving political funds.

The Committee for the Welfare of the Common People (Seominwi, Secretary-General Kim Soon-hwan) filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on December 23rd of last year against Minister of Justice Jeong Seong-ho for violations of the Political Funds Act, the Improper Solicitation and Graft Prohibition Act, and bribery.

The complaint reportedly includes the detailed timeline, amounts, delivery routes, and subsequent circumstances of the alleged bribes, involving numerous individuals such as △CEO of Company A (suspicion of providing funds) △Assistant B (suspicion of concealing information) △CEO of Media Company C (messenger role) and △Member of Parliament D (mention of potential further involvement).

Seominwi stated, "This is not a mere allegation of suspicion. The specific time, amount, and delivery route have been identified," and demanded a thorough investigation.

This complaint comes amidst growing concerns that the government and ruling party are reaching peak corruption, following allegations of bribery against former floor leader Kim Byung-ki of the Democratic Party of Korea. The results of the subsequent investigation are drawing attention.
