Hulk Hogan, known as a "legend of professional wrestling," has passed away at the age of 71, according to U.S. media reports on the 24th (local time).

TMZ Sports was the first to report Hogan's passing on the morning of the 24th, stating that paramedics were dispatched to his home in Florida.

Paramedics mentioned "cardiac arrest," and Hogan was immediately transported to the hospital but ultimately died, the outlet reported.

The Associated Press also reported Hogan's death, citing statements from Florida police and the professional wrestling organization WWE.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is considered one of the greatest stars in WWE history.

He won the WWE Championship at least six times and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
