It has been reported that President Donald Trump was briefed on the search and seizure conducted by South Korea’s special investigation team on the insurrection case (led by Special Prosecutor Cho Eun-seok) at Osan Air Base.

A White House source told News & Post that upon receiving the report, President Trump reacted by saying, "What the f***."

Typically, such a reaction occurs when one encounters a completely unexpected situation. Analysts suggest this indicates that President Trump has come to perceive the situation in South Korea as more serious than he had initially thought.

The Seoul Economic Daily exclusively reported that the search and seizure in South Korea took place on the 21st.

A few hours later, Yonhap News reported that National Security Advisor Wi Sung-lac, who was scheduled to meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House in Washington, D.C., was unable to attend the meeting because President Trump had urgently summoned the Secretary.

This is interpreted as President Trump intensifying pressure on the South Korean government following the report of the raid on Osan Air Base.

Three days later, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unilaterally notified Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yoon-cheol, who was at Incheon International Airport for the '2+2 meeting,' of the meeting's cancellation via email. It is reported that the email was sent by Secretary Bessent’s aide.

In an article on the 24th, News & Post identified the search and seizure at Osan Air Base as the cause for the cancellation of the meeting between the two high-ranking cabinet officials.

With the additional context that President Trump was briefed on the raid at Osan Air Base, these concerns have now been confirmed as reality.
