A public opinion poll released on the 25th (local time) showed that more than 6 out of 10 American voters view the Democratic Party negatively.

According to the poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) among 1,500 American voters from the 16th to the 20th and announced on the same day, 63% viewed the Democratic Party negatively.

The 63% disapproval rating for the Democratic Party is the highest in 35 years since the WSJ's public opinion polls began in 1990.

The percentage viewing the Democratic Party favorably was 33%, which was 30 percentage points lower than the disapproval rate.

Among voters, the opposition to President Trump's major economic policies, such as tariffs, tax cuts, and inflation, was higher than the approval rate. However, when it came to handling the same issues in Congress, voters showed more trust in Republican lawmakers than Democratic lawmakers.

More than half, 52%, opposed President Trump's tax cut bill passed by Congress on the 1st, and in tariff policies, the opposition rate was 17 percentage points higher than the approval rate.

Regarding monetary policies, including President Trump's inflation management, the opposition rate was 11 percentage points higher than the approval rate.

However, when the WSJ surveyed trust in the Republican and Democratic parties on 10 issues, the rate of trust in the Republican Party for tariff policies was 7 percentage points higher than the rate of trust in the Democratic Party, and trust in the Republican Party for responding to inflation was 10 percentage points higher than for the Democratic Party.

For immigration policies, the rate of trust in the Republican Party was 17 percentage points higher than in the Democratic Party, and for dealing with illegal immigration, it was 24 percentage points higher.

However, for two issues, health care and vaccine policies, trust in the Democratic Party was higher than in the Republican Party, the WSJ reported.

The WSJ predicted that the Democratic Party, facing record-high disapproval ratings ahead of next year's midterm elections, may try to leverage issues with high voter opposition to President Trump's policies to turn the situation around.

This means they might try to sway public opinion by using President Trump's tax cut bill, which has a higher opposition rate, or controversies surrounding sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
