President Donald Trump continued his attacks on "fake and fraudulent polls" on Monday (26th), claiming they should be considered "criminal acts." He also accused mainstream media outlets of deliberately misleading voters and attempting to influence elections.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump alleged that major news organizations intentionally published inaccurate poll results during the 2024 presidential election campaign to suppress voter turnout and manipulate public opinion.

"Fake polls and fraudulent polls should actually be considered criminal acts," Trump wrote, pointing to polls promoted by outlets such as The New York Times, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC, which he claimed were "intentionally wrong" and "nowhere near the final results."

Trump stated that although he claimed a landslide victory, the polls were manipulated to influence the election.

"I had a landslide. Not only did I win the popular vote, I won all seven swing states, and it was a landslide in the Electoral College, I won 525 counties out of 2,750 counties," he wrote. "It doesn’t get any better than this."

Trump occasionally criticized polls from Fox News and The Wall Street Journal, while also praising independent polling firms that accurately captured voter sentiment but were largely ignored by the mainstream media.

"There are some very good pollsters who have predicted election results correctly, but the media doesn’t want to use them in any way," he said, labeling the situation a "polling scam" and lamenting the state of American journalism.

The remarks come after President Trump's ongoing legal battle with The New York Times.

Last week, President Trump announced his intention to add the New York Times/Siena poll to his defamation lawsuit against the newspaper, accusing it of publishing "fake results" rigged in favor of Democrats.

A recent Times/Siena poll showed President Trump with a 40% approval rating and a 56% disapproval rating, one year into his potential return to power.

The survey also revealed that nearly half of respondents believed the United States had worsened during Trump's presidency, a claim President Trump strongly denied.

"I will be adding the Times Siena Poll, which gave me very negative results, just before the election which I won in a landslide, to the lawsuit," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Thursday (22nd).

He stated that his legal team had requested detailed records on how the poll was conducted and how the results were tabulated.

Trump filed a lawsuit last year against The New York Times and several of its journalists, alleging defamation in their coverage of his 2024 presidential campaign.

While a federal judge dismissed his initial lawsuit, Trump refiled it in October, and the case is currently ongoing.

Conservatives have long argued that mainstream polling firms fail to adequately represent Republican voters, particularly those in the working class and rural areas, while consistently overstating Democratic turnout.

Several instances of polls being inaccurate in recent elections have fueled skepticism about the credibility of mainstream polling.

President Trump stated he would continue to exert pressure on media organizations he deems to be abusing their influence.

"They are insane and sick," he wrote. "They have Trump Derangement Syndrome. They have to pay for fake news and fraudulent news, and hopefully they will."
