President Donald Trump sent a message of "peace through strength," urging Iran to come to the "negotiating table" for denuclearization and peace talks, while also stating that a "massive fleet" was on its way.

"A massive fleet is moving to Iran," Trump said in a morning post on Truth Social on Thursday, adding that it was moving "with great speed, with great power and passion and commitment."

He stated, "This fleet is far larger than anything that has ever been sent to Venezuela, and the mighty aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln is the flagship."

"Just as in Venezuela, this fleet is prepared to perform its mission, and is able, and ready, to act with speed and overwhelming force if necessary, and the Iranians would be wise to come to the 'negotiating table' today and make a deal that is reasonable and — and can be, and should be, mutually beneficial, a deal that is not based on nuclear weapons," he urged.

Trump had said on Tuesday that he believed Iran wanted to negotiate, and the new message came hours after Iran publicly denied that claim.

Trump reportedly wanted to launch retaliatory strikes against Iran for the alleged killing of protestors, but was talked out of it, reportedly because it wouldn't lead to a regime change.

"Time is running out. Really important problem!" Trump said on Truth Social on Thursday. "I've told them before, negotiate!"

"They did not negotiate, and consequently, a massive Iranian attack that was called 'Operation Midnight Hammer' occurred," he warned. "The next attack will be far more terrible! Do not do that again."

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that he had not recently contacted or sought negotiations with U.S. envoy Steve Witcoff, according to state media reports on Wednesday, ahead of Trump's posts.

The U.S. has deployed additional military assets to the Gulf region amid nationwide protests in Iran and the bloodiest crackdown since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

"There has been no contact between me and Witcoff in recent days, nor has there been any request for negotiations from our side," Araghchi said in an interview with state media, adding that various mediators were "in the process of consultation and in contact with Tehran."

"Our stance is clear: negotiations cannot be held alongside threats, and dialogue is only possible in the absence of threats and excessive demands," he added.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday that Tehran welcomed all procedures to prevent war within the framework of international law.
