The showdown debate on election fraud between Representative Jeon Han-gil and Lee Jun-seok, scheduled for 6 PM on the 27th at the PenNMike studio, is no mere war of words. 

It is a moment where suspicions long relegated to the margins are entering the center of public discourse, and a stage for public verification where those who have persisted in raising issues—enduring political stigma and mockery—are finally stepping into a direct confrontation. 

Reflecting on this scene, one figure naturally comes to mind: the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, who shook the world with his famous mantra, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.”

In the 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" in Kinshasa, Congo, Ali defied everyone's expectations to defeat the invincible champion George Foreman. 

Rather than engaging in a head-on slugfest, he utilized the “Rope-a-Dope” strategy, leaning against the ropes to absorb his opponent’s attacks and exhaust Foreman’s stamina before changing history with a single decisive counter. 

While most experts at the time predicted Ali would lose, he wore his opponent down before landing a quick combination and a precise right-hand counter-punch to secure a knockout victory.

The reason for the high anticipation surrounding the 2/27 debate is that, despite an unfavorable public opinion landscape, indifference from mainstream media, and silence from political circles, they have succeeded in creating a platform for public verification.

In particular, this debate is not just a head-to-head between two individuals; it carries the hallmarks of an all-out war between the camps forming behind them. 

Kim Mi-young, head of VON, stated on Facebook, “It seems the schedule for the election fraud debate with Lee Jun-seok has been set. Representative Jeon Han-gil has offered me a chance to participate as well. The debate will proceed in a gentle and peaceful manner.” 

The fact that CEO Kim specifically emphasized a “gentle and peaceful process” likely means an intention to refrain from emotional outbursts, not to soften the substance of their arguments. If anything, it reads as a display of confidence that they will present even clearer data and logic within a disciplined format.

Kim Young-yoon, director of Politico, uses much more direct language. Director Kim defined this stage as: “Election fraud is not in the realm of ‘debate,’ where one plays with words, but in the realm of ‘verification,’ based on cold figures and physical evidence.” 

He further emphasized, “Representative Jeon Han-gil intends to present the blade of ‘verification’ contained within the vessel of a ‘debate’ before the public.” Borrowing his phrasing, this debate will not be a feast of the verbal sparring that is Lee Jun-seok’s specialty, but a collision of concrete evidence, such as data, log records, and issues with ballot counting machines.

The demand to “prove it with documents, not your mouth” follows the same vein. Regarding Lee Jun-seok’s Harvard academic controversy in particular, Director Kim said, “It would be over in five minutes if he simply released a single official academic record with an apostille certification,” yet he has failed to submit it for ten years.

Meanwhile, Lee Jun-seok accepted the public debate, stating, “The debate with election fraud theorists has been confirmed for 6 PM this Friday. Since it will be an unlimited debate, there will be no running away.” Regarding the suspicions raised about his Harvard admission process, he stated, “I have initiated criminal complaints,” and indicated that civil litigation may follow. 

He claimed, “As I have said repeatedly, when I applied to Harvard, President Roh Moo-hyun was not yet president, and I received my recommendation from my high school homeroom teacher.” 

He then expressed his determination to meet them head-on with the strong remark: “Mr. Jeon Han-gil, go ahead and debate, feel humiliated, and go to jail.” It is a strategy of combining political refutation with legal action.

If it were merely a war of words, Jeon Han-gil might fall behind Lee Jun-seok—just as most experts predicted Ali would lose.

However, the significance of this 2/27 debate lies not in who wins or loses, but in the fact that they have managed to create a venue for public verification despite the silence of the mainstream media. This is because uncovering election fraud is a matter of verification, not debate.
