The 'Association of Professors Practicing Freedom and Justice' (APPUF) will provide a forum for discussion to diagnose the current state of public broadcasting, which faces a crisis in the rapidly changing media environment, and to explore its future.
APPUF announced that it will hold its '25th Academic Seminar: Challenges and Solutions for Public Broadcasting' on the 26th at 2 PM in B2 of the Life Business Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul.
This seminar will bring together experts from the fields of society, presentation, and discussion to examine the structural problems facing public broadcasting and their solutions from multiple perspectives.
Professor Emeritus Cho Meng-gi of Sogang University's Graduate School of Journalism will moderate, with presentations by △Professor Lee In-ho of Chung-Ang University's School of Law △ and former MBC News Bureau Chief Oh Jeong-hwan (former Chairman of the Public Broadcasting Union). The discussion will be led by Professor Kim Woo-seok (former member of the Korea Communications Standards Commission) of Kookmin University.
Kim Byung-joon, co-representative of APPUF, stated, "We plan to delve deeply into the various challenges facing South Korea's public broadcasting from legal and practical perspectives," and added, "We hope for the participation of many who are interested in the fairness and future of broadcasting."
