The statement of "unchanged policy toward North Korea" is interpreted as confirmation that the Trump administration's fundamental principle of pursuing complete denuclearization of North Korea remains unchanged.

The official also recalled that "President Trump held three historic summits with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his first term, which stabilized the Korean Peninsula."
