The U.S. Central Command announced that it has sunk an Iranian drone carrier, following an Iranian warship.

The U.S. Central Command stated on social media platform X at 10 AM (Korean time) on the 6th, “U.S. forces aren't holding back on the mission to sink the entire Iranian Navy. Today, an Iranian drone carrier, roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier, was struck and is now on fire.”

According to a Fox News report on the 5th (local time), this drone carrier was a converted container ship named ‘IRIS Shahid Bagheri,’ and Iran is known to have commissioned the vessel in February 2025.

The vessel is equipped with a 590-foot (approximately 180m) long runway for drones and can sail up to 22,000 nautical miles (approximately 40,000 km) without refueling from port.

Meanwhile, the Iranian military has not acknowledged being attacked by U.S. forces and is reportedly not disclosing details about material losses during the war so far.
