The "Special Committee for Comprehensive Response to 3 Special Prosecutors" established by the Democratic Party. The name suggests response, but in reality, it's about control. I could barely believe my ears when I heard their words.

"If the court rejects the special prosecutor's warrant, we will consider a special court for rebellion."

Is this something that can be said by a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea? This is an idea that shakes the very foundation of the separation of powers. A political party that openly declares its intention to change 'courts it dislikes' in a democratic country. Are they truly the Democratic Party, or a Communist Party conducting people's trials?

The Lee Jae-myung administration's concept of the rule of law is now clear. The President has halted his trial. The President, who is a defendant, has not had his trial for months. Amidst this silence, the Democratic Party is dedicating all its efforts to the investigation of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, shouting "justice." The one who halts trials remains silent, while they mobilize all legislative power for special prosecutors targeting political rivals. Is this fairness?

Although the Democratic Party's special committee claims to "indirectly support" special prosecutors, in reality, it acts like a "supervisory body" attempting to manage the direction of investigations. They even express dissatisfaction with the court's warrant rejections, announcing legislative measures to "institutionally supplement" them, and even alluding to unconstitutional mechanisms like a "special court." At this point, it is legislative dictatorship and an insult to the Constitution.

Is the National Assembly the office of special prosecutors, or a superior institution to the court? Is the practice of creating special courts when unhappy with rulings, changing laws when dissatisfied with investigations, and suspending trial dates when unfavorable truly the rule of law in a democratic country?

This scene is not unfamiliar at all. Morales of Bolivia, Maduro of Venezuela. These two regimes maintained power by reconstituting their judiciaries, replacing judges, halting trials, and imprisoning political opponents. The international community condemned this as "instrumentalization of justice."

Now I ask. What is the difference between Korea's Democratic Party and them? Lee Jae-myung has halted his trial, and the Democratic Party is, in the meantime, pressuring special prosecutors and intimidating the courts. They are manipulating public opinion by portraying political rivals as "rebels" and abusing legislative power for their own political security. And they package all these actions with the word "justice."

The term "special court for rebellion" is a signal flare directly contradicting the Constitution. The moment those who have received power in the name of the people declare they will now deny the judiciary entrusted to them by the people, it is a coup-like politics.

The idea of creating trials through legislation and the ruling party choosing the judiciary is something rarely seen even in absolute monarchies.

Now it is time for the people to step forward. We must curb the lawlessness of the opposition party, criticize the double standards of those in power, and protect the judiciary, the last bastion of the separation of powers. The right to speak of "justice" belongs not to those who are being tried, but to those who are prepared to face the trial.
