The U.S. Donald Trump administration announced on the 13th (local time) bounties of up to $10 million (approximately 14.981 billion Korean won) on Mojtaba, Iran's new supreme leader, and others.

"Rewards for Justice," a terror information reporting and reward program operated by the U.S. Department of State, announced on the same day, "Up to $10 million will be paid to informants who provide information on key leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran and its subordinate units."

The State Department explained that it designated the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization in April 2019, and prior to that, the Treasury Department had designated the IRGC as a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" for supporting its elite unit, the Quds Force.

In announcing the bounty, the State Department named Supreme Leader Mojtaba as the first target.

Also on the list of bounty targets are: Asghar Hejazi, Chief of Staff to the Supreme Leader; Yahya Rahim Safavi, Military Advisor to the Supreme Leader; Ali Larijani, Advisor to the Supreme Leader and Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council; Esfandiar Momini, Minister of Interior; and Esmail Khatib, Minister of Intelligence and Security.

In addition, the State Department requested information on the Secretary General of the National Defense Committee, the Supreme Leader's Advisor, the Head of the Supreme Leader's Military Office, and the IRGC Commander, for whom no photos or names were provided.

The State Department pointed out, "These individuals command and control various IRGC units that plan, organize, and execute terrorism around the world. The IRGC, part of Iran's regular army, plays a central role in Iran's use of terrorism as a core tool of statecraft."

A bounty announcement of up to $10 million for information on these individuals was also posted on the "Rewards for Justice" X (formerly Twitter) account on the same day.

The post read, "Do you have information on these Iranian terror leaders? Send us your information. You may receive a reward and relocation assistance."
