U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 21st (local time) that he would deploy Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to airports starting Monday (23rd), as the Department of Homeland Security shutdown continues.
He criticized on Truth Social on Saturday, stating, "Radical left Democrats have harmed countless people in a vicious and ruthless manner," and "What they have done to the Department of Homeland Security, the great TSA employees, and most importantly, our people, is an absolutely unacceptable disgrace."
President Trump emphasized, "If Democrats do not ensure fair and proper security across the country, including at airports, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will perform its duties much more effectively than ever before," adding, "Fascist Democrats will never protect America, but Republicans will."
He stated, "Just as the radical left has allowed millions of criminals to flood into the United States through their absurd and dangerous open border policies, Republicans have stopped all of that, and now we have the strongest border in American history."
He added, "Likewise, I will be deploying ICE on Monday, and I have already told them to 'get ready.' There is no more time to wait or play games!"
The post also included a photo of President Trump with a stern expression, his hands clenched into fists on a desk, under the phrase "No Games!"
In another post on the 22nd, President Trump wrote, "On Monday, ICE will go to the airports and help the great TSA employees who have been working hard despite the radical left Democrats putting our country at risk by hoarding funds agreed upon long ago by signatures and contracts, while only focusing on protecting illegal alien violent criminals."
He added, "But look, no matter how well ICE handles the job, the lunatics leading the incompetent Democrats will fiercely criticize their work. They will do a truly great job. Great Tom Homan is in charge!!!"
