U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 24th (local time) that he had received "a very big gift" from Iran, which is at war with the U.S. and Israel.

Speaking to reporters at the swearing-in ceremony for the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Mark Wayne Mullen, at the White House that day, Trump said, "Actually, they gave us a gift. That gift arrived today."

He added, "It was a very big gift, worth an enormous amount of money. We will let you know what that gift is."

When asked what the "gift" referred to, President Trump replied, "It was not related to nuclear. It was related to oil and gas."

He emphasized, "They did a very good job. What that (gift) showed me is that we are dealing with the right people."

He also claimed, "They agreed that there should be no more nuclear weapons (in Iran) and that they would not engage in (uranium) enrichment. We are in the best position in negotiations."

While the "they" referred to by President Trump can be interpreted as the Iranian government or leadership in context, it also appears to potentially refer to some other entity with whom he is negotiating.

President Trump stated that he himself, along with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and his eldest son-in-law Jared Kushner and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, are involved in the negotiations.

He continued, "We are currently in negotiations," and added, "A single (missile) could have destroyed their power plants, but we held back considering that we are in negotiations."

He reiterated his claim that the negotiation demands, reportedly conveyed to Iran, included "First, second, and third, they cannot have nuclear weapons. I don't want to say it in advance, but they have agreed to never have nuclear weapons."

President Trump stated, "We killed all of their leadership. Now we have a new group (in Iran). We are dealing with a group of people (in Iran), and they will be revealed soon."

Referring to the elimination of key figures in the Iranian regime, including the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Trump claimed, "We have actually changed the regime. This is a regime change."

The regime change in Iran can be considered another core objective that President Trump raised early in the conflict, alongside stating operational goals such as blocking Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons and destroying its missile capabilities, while also urging the Iranian people to "act."

President Trump said, "We will end (the war) soon. We have won this war. The only thing that wishes for it to continue is fake news (from the mainstream media)."

When asked if he hoped for allies to join the military operation against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, he replied, "A little bit," but added, "NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) should do more."
