A senior reporter for CNN, a prominent left-leaning cable news network in the United States, has fiercely criticized the US Democratic Party, calling it "messier than a hoarder's basement."

According to the online edition of Fox News on the 2nd (local time), Harry Enten, a senior political data analyst for CNN, stated on a broadcast on the 1st that "the Democratic Party is historically divided and messier than a hoarder's basement."

Enten made these remarks after Kamala Harris, who withdrew from the US presidential race last November, recently broke her silence and indicated a possibility of running in the 2028 presidential election. He criticized her statement, saying, "The Democratic Party's search for a new leader is far from over. Anyone can jump into the presidential race because there is no clear frontrunner."

He added, "One of the reasons there is no clear frontrunner is that no one wants to put a candidate at the top of the ticket," and further commented harshly, "Right now, the Democratic brand is in the basement."

Enten cited three US polls, stating that "Democrats are perceived as absolute trash in the minds of Americans." The net favorability rating for the Democratic Party hit historic lows in all three polls. It plunged by 30 percentage points compared to a specific period in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), and by 26 percentage points each in CNN and Gallup.

He analyzed these results by saying, "A significant portion of the internal dissatisfaction among Democratic supporters has been expressed," and added, "Supporters want something different. We have to wait and see who they will ultimately choose."
