The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it would activate the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters at Level 1 starting at 6 p.m. on the 3rd, as heavy rain advisories have been issued, primarily for the western regions of Jeolla and Chungcheong provinces.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, heavy rainfall of up to 150-250 mm or more is expected in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungnam province, Jeolla province, and the southern coast of Gyeongnam between the night of the 3rd and the dawn of the 4th.

Yoon Ho-jung, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (Minister of the Interior and Safety), instructed thorough situation management, control, and prompt evacuation to prevent damage from rapidly rising water levels at pensions, campgrounds, and campsites near rivers or valleys.

He also urged thorough monitoring of habitually flooded areas, such as low-lying areas and riverbanks, which have a high risk of flooding and a history of inundation, and to implement prompt controls when flooding is anticipated.
