Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church, who was indicted and arrested in connection with a case at the Seoul Western District Court, is expected to be released on bail.

The Seoul Western District Court announced on the 7th that it had accepted Pastor Jeon's bail request.

The court made this decision considering that Pastor Jeon requires periodic hospital treatment due to diabetes complications, that his well-known face makes escape difficult, that overseas flight can be prevented by an exit ban, and the need to guarantee the defendant's right to defense.

However, conditions for bail include the payment of a 100 million won deposit and no direct or indirect communication with parties involved in the case.

The prosecution viewed that Pastor Jeon incited the case at the Western District Court by stating to Sarang Jeil Church members and participants in the Gwanghwamun rally that "anti-national forces must be eliminated through the right to national resistance."

The case at the Western District Court refers to the incident on January 19th last year, in the early morning, when supporters broke into the Western District Court immediately after the arrest of former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
