Iran also confirmed on the 7th (local time) that both countries agreed to a two-week ceasefire, as announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to The New York Times (NYT) and Reuters, Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated in a statement on the same day that Iran had won the war against the United States and Israel, and that the U.S. had accepted all of Iran's 10-point peace proposals.
According to Iran, the peace proposals include Iran's control over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from all regional bases, easing of sanctions against Iran, and compensation for war damages.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in a statement that if attacks against Iran cease, Iran will also cease attacks, and that safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible for two weeks through coordination with the Iranian military.
Iran announced that it will negotiate with the United States in Islamabad, Pakistan, starting on the 10th to finalize the details of the peace proposals, and that the negotiations can be extended by mutual agreement.
Earlier, President Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, at 6:32 PM Eastern Time on the same day, stating, "I agree to a two-week suspension of bombing and attacks on Iran, conditional on Iran agreeing to the full, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz."
