On the 10th, the ruling and opposition parties agreed to maintain the total amount of the supplementary budget of 26.2 trillion won submitted by the government, while increasing or decreasing some projects.

The budget for the 'up to 600,000 won for the lower 70% income bracket nationwide' (high oil price damage support project), which was one of the core issues of this supplementary budget, will be maintained as proposed by the government.

The floor leaders of the Democratic Party of Korea and the People Power Party informed reporters that this agreement was reached through a meeting at the National Assembly on the day, which is the deadline for processing the supplementary budget agreed upon by both parties.

According to the agreement, both parties decided to maintain the total supplementary budget at 26.2 trillion won, as proposed by the government.

This means that while some projects were increased or decreased during the negotiations between the ruling and opposition parties, the total amount remains unchanged.

Specifically, both parties agreed to increase the budget by 100 billion won to offer a temporary 50% discount for K-Pass, which is intended to promote the use of public transportation.

Furthermore, they decided to increase the support for stabilizing the supply and demand of naphtha by 200 billion won.

In addition, an additional 200 billion won will be allocated for ▲ the establishment of an oil price-linked subsidy for agricultural machinery ▲ an increase in the oil price-linked subsidy for tax-exempt diesel for farmers and fishers ▲ relief of fuel costs for coastal passenger ferries ▲ and an expansion of support for inorganic fertilizers.

Both parties plan to hold a plenary session late at night today to pass the supplementary budget.
