Vice President Vance and his delegation were scheduled to depart Tuesday morning. In Pakistan, negotiations were set to resume on Wednesday, the day a two-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran was to expire.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the postponement of the talks reflects Iran's failure to provide a firm commitment to participate, indicating growing uncertainty about whether negotiations will actually take place, sources said.

Iranian officials have called the blockade of an Iranian port in the Strait of Hormuz by the U.S. Navy a war crime, denouncing the act as a violation of the ceasefire agreement and a "act of war," according to Reuters.

Tehran has not indicated its willingness to attend the talks in Islamabad and has linked whether it will raise complaints about maritime security measures to its participation in the negotiations, according to multiple international media reports, including Reuters.
