Iran has presented a 14-point revised negotiation proposal to the United States, which includes demands for war reparations and control over the Strait of Hormuz, the Tasnim news agency reported on the 2nd (local time).

According to the report, the Iranian government delivered the proposal containing these terms to Pakistan, the mediator, as a response to the US's nine-point peace negotiation proposal.

Tasnim, an semi-official news agency linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Iran's focus was on a complete cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, rather than a mere extension of the ceasefire.

Tasnim explained that while the US proposed a two-month ceasefire, Iran sent a position paper advocating for the resolution of all contentious issues and the end of the war within 30 days.

The proposal sent by Iran is understood to include demands such as: ▲ Payment of reparations for war damages ▲ Guarantees against the recurrence of military aggression ▲ Withdrawal of US troops from areas surrounding Iran ▲ Lifting of the naval blockade on Iran ▲ Lifting of sanctions against Iran, including the freezing of overseas assets ▲ Cessation of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon ▲ Establishment of a new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz.

The new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz is interpreted as a demand for recognition of Iran's right to control passing vessels, including collecting tolls.

It is anticipated that a significant portion of Iran's demands in this proposal will be unacceptable to US President Donald Trump.

President Trump considers Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz a non-negotiable issue.

Especially since President Trump is seeking a victory narrative, the possibility of him compromising on the payment of war reparations, which is the responsibility of a defeated nation, is slim.

This war began when the United States and Israel launched a surprise airstrike on Iran on February 28th, assassinating top leaders including Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The US and Iran agreed to a ceasefire on the 8th of last month, but tensions have since escalated as peace negotiations held in Pakistan broke down.

The Trump administration continues to exert economic pressure on the Iranian regime by imposing a naval blockade on Iranian ports in response to Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Mediator countries, including Pakistan, are working to arrange new talks based on Iran's current proposal, but progress remains uncertain due to the lack of common ground on key issues.

The Trump administration's core demands are for Iran to abandon its nuclear program and open the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran continues to resist US demands as hardliners favoring a hawkish stance, led by the Revolutionary Guard Corps, have seized internal power and begun to dominate negotiations.

Previously, Reuters reported that Iran had proposed to the US to resume passage through the Strait of Hormuz, agree to a ceasefire first, and then negotiate the nuclear issue.

According to the report, after a ceasefire agreement, Iran proposed holding talks to limit its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions, and Iran demanded that the US recognize its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, even if it agreed to suspend uranium enrichment.

President Trump commented on Iran's proposal on his social media platform Truth Social, saying, "I will review the plan Iran just sent us soon."

However, he added, "It is hard to imagine that the plan will be accepted, given that they have not yet paid enough for what they have done to humanity and the world over the past 47 years."

The previous day, before leaving for an event in Florida, President Trump met with reporters at the White House and expressed skepticism about Iran's proposal, stating, "They want a deal, but I don't find it satisfactory."

Before boarding Air Force One to travel from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, to Miami, he met with reporters and even mentioned the possibility of the US resuming attacks on Iran.
