U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters the previous day that he expected to receive Iran's response to the U.S. ceasefire proposal by the night of the 8th. However, as of the afternoon of the following day, neither side has officially commented on the matter.

Despite recent consecutive clashes in the Strait of Hormuz, both the U.S. and Iran maintain that a ceasefire is still in effect and are focusing on negotiations. However, it is assessed that the unstable ceasefire state is also continuing due to the lack of tangible outcomes from the negotiations.

President Trump was reportedly reiterated in an interview with French media that day that he expected Iran's response soon.

Margo Haddad, a reporter for French broadcaster LCI, shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account that President Trump told her in a phone call that day that he "expects to hear from Iran very soon."

The reporter added that President Trump also said Iran is still very eager to reach a peace agreement with the United States.

It has not yet been confirmed whether President Trump has since received a response from Iran.

Iran has also not made an official statement. To date, Iran's official stance remains that it is reviewing the U.S. proposal.

In an interview with Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency on the 6th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated, "Iran is still reviewing the U.S. plan and proposals." He did not comment on a deadline or the direction of the response.

Based on reports from U.S. media so far, it appears that the U.S. and Iran are discussing a plan to initially declare an end to the war and then engage in 30 days of negotiations for detailed agreements, including the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, restrictions on Iran's nuclear program, and the lifting of sanctions against Iran.

President Trump had previously claimed in media interviews and other outlets that the agreement with Iran would include the export of Iran's enriched uranium stockpile to the U.S. and the suspension of Iran's underground nuclear facilities.

Some speculate that Iran may be stalling to extract maximum concessions from the U.S.

While President Trump, who is scheduled to visit China for a summit with Chinese leaders on the 14th-15th, repeatedly expresses expectations for a negotiated settlement, it is analyzed that from Iran's perspective, there is little incentive to quickly accept U.S. demands when a ceasefire is already in place.

Amidst this, President Trump has successively posted AI-generated images on his social media platform Truth Social, seemingly depicting the military subjugation of Iran.

First, he posted an image with the caption "159 Iranian warships," depicting Iranian warships sunk at the bottom of the sea during his administration, contrasted with them being afloat during the Obama and Biden administrations.

He also posted an image likening crashing Iranian drones to butterflies, with the caption "Drones falling like butterflies."

This is interpreted as an attempt to increase pressure on Iran by highlighting the significant damage inflicted on Iran's naval and air forces due to U.S. attacks.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East, announced that the maritime blockade against Iran, initiated on the 13th of last month, has resulted in the diversion of 58 merchant vessels and the incapacitation of four vessels.

Meanwhile, President Trump attended a LIV Golf tournament at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, on the afternoon of the 9th.
