Lee Jin-sook, a preliminary candidate for the People Power Party in the Dalseong-gun parliamentary by-election in Daegu, held her election office opening ceremony on the 10th with support from the party leadership, aiming to rally her supporters.
The opening ceremony was attended by key party leaders and local lawmakers, including People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk, preliminary Daegu mayoral candidate Chu Kyung-ho, preliminary Gyeongbuk Provincial Governor Lee Cheol-woo, and lawmakers Na Kyung-won and Jeong Hee-yong, all of whom came to support Lee.
Leader Jang stated, "I met with candidate Lee Jin-sook, who has been working diligently for the mayoral position, and asked her to come to the National Assembly to fight alongside us against the Democratic Party and the Lee Jae-myung administration, as we currently need more strength to fight effectively," adding, "Although we may have caused some hurt during the nomination process, I thank the citizens of Daegu for yielding candidate Lee to the National Assembly so she can fight properly and protect Korea."
He continued, "Dalseong is a place that has protected Korean conservatism and is its pride," emphasizing, "I have not come here out of concern that candidate Lee might not win, but because I want to see her win with an overwhelming majority of over 90%."
Lawmaker Na said, "I think we will gain more strength if Lee Jin-sook comes to the National Assembly," and added, "When Mayor Chu Kyung-ho and National Assembly member Lee Jin-sook are born, the People Power Party will also be reborn to block the Lee Jae-myung administration."

After her speech, Na presented Lee with a bouquet.
Preliminary candidate Chu, who was previously the member of the National Assembly for Dalseong-gun, also came to offer his support.
Chu stated, "I am reassured because I believe someone with much greater capabilities than myself will fill my vacancy," and added, "I hope you will give the same love you gave me entirely to candidate Lee Jin-sook."
In her remarks, preliminary candidate Lee said, "This election is about protecting Korea from unchecked dictatorial power," and criticized the current administration by saying, "Anyone who has committed a crime must be punished."
She continued, "I am starting my political journey in Dalseong-gun," and expressed her ambition, "I will dedicate my last passion to defending liberal democracy."
Park Hyung-ryong, the Dalseong-gun district committee chairman who received the strategic nomination from the Democratic Party for the Dalseong-gun parliamentary by-election, is expected to complete his preliminary candidate registration early next week and officially begin his election campaign with a visit to the national robot test field.
