A large number of executives from American technology and finance companies are included in the delegation accompanying U.S. President Donald Trump on his visit to China for the summit.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, and Kelly O'Toole, CEO of Boeing, will accompany President Trump on his visit to China, according to a report by Bloomberg and Reuters citing White House officials on November 11 (local time).
In addition, CEOs from Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, BlackRock, and Citigroup, as well as Dina Powell McCormick, President of The Carlyle Group (formerly of Goldman Sachs), are named on the delegation list.
Bloomberg reported that President Trump hopes to secure business deals and purchase agreements with China during this visit.
Tesla is currently working to obtain approval for its autonomous driving system in the Chinese market, and SpaceX is reportedly in contact with Chinese solar power companies to build data centers in space.
China is a crucial market for Apple, accounting for 20% of its total revenue, and also serves as a core production base where key partners like Foxconn are concentrated.
Boeing has reportedly been in negotiations with China for a large-scale contract involving 500 of its 737 MAX aircraft and dozens of wide-body jets. If this contract is finalized, it would be the largest order China has placed with Boeing since 2017.
The United States has also stated that discussions related to the U.S.-China Trade and Investment Councils will be included in the agenda for this summit.
However, officials indicated that Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, is not included in the delegation for this trip to China.
Previously, the U.S. approved the export of Nvidia's "H200" artificial intelligence (AI) chip to China, but exports to China have not yet occurred as Chinese companies have not received purchase approval from the Chinese government.
President Trump is scheduled to make a state visit to China from November 13 to 15.
