The People Power Party has established a central election committee effectively led by CEO Jang Dong-hyuk, with 22 days remaining until the June 3 local elections and by-elections for National Assembly members on the 12th.

Consequently, following the Democratic Party's move on the 10th, the People Power Party is also transitioning to a full-fledged election committee system.

The People Power Party announced in a press release today the launch of the "Election Committee to Resist the Prosecution Cancellation and Penalize the Public's Disregard."

The standing co-chairs of the election committee will include CEO Jang, Professor Shim Kyo-eon of Konkuk University's Real Estate Department as a real estate expert, Professor Yang Jun-mo of Yonsei University's Economics Department as a real economy expert, Professor Lee Yoon-jin of Konkuk University's Institute for Health and Aging Society as a social welfare expert, and Ms. Choi Ji-ye, Director of Jiye Company, as a youth leader.

Apart from CEO Jang, the other individuals are private experts.

The joint co-chairs will include Floor Leader Song Eon-seok, Policy Committee Chairman Jeong Jeong-sik, and Supreme Council members Shin Dong-wook, Kim Min-soo, Kim Jae-won, Woo Jae-jun, and Cho Kwang-han.

Jeong Hee-yong, Secretary-General, will head the Election Operations Headquarters under the Central Election Committee, overseeing election affairs.

Park Soo-young, Head of the Policy and Pledges Headquarters; Seo Cheon-ho, Head of the Strategy Headquarters; Yoo Young-ha, Head of the Planning Headquarters; Kang Myung-gu, Head of the Organization Headquarters; Seo Ji-young, Head of the Public Relations Headquarters; Kwak Gyu-taek, Head of the Clean Election Headquarters; and Public Information Directors Park Seong-hoon, Choi Bo-yoon, Choi Soo-jin, and Park Choong-kwon, along with Jo Seung-hwan, Director of the Yeouido Institute, also joined the headquarters as incumbent lawmakers.

Notably, the People Power Party has established a "Committee to Resist the Prosecution Cancellation Special Prosecutor Bill" under the Central Election Committee and stated, "We will resolutely respond with the public to the merciless judicial destruction attempts by the Lee Jae-myung administration."

Rep. Ju Jin-woo, who has actively led the offensive against the ruling party, will chair this committee and plans to thoroughly inform the public about the unconstitutionality and illegality of the prosecution cancellation special prosecutor bill.

The People Power Party plans to operate in a dual structure, with the Central Election Committee focusing on responding to central issues, and the provincial and city election committees, led by candidates and lawmakers, closely addressing regional and livelihood issues.

This is interpreted as the Central Election Committee concentrating on offense at the central level, considering the ongoing reluctance to support CEO Jang Dong-hyuk's campaign rallies in the Seoul metropolitan area.

In addition, the People Power Party plans to expand its engagement with the public by operating the "Youth RED WING" organization, where young people directly plan and participate, thereby building a new election campaign model that reflects the sensibilities and language of the younger generation. The director is Seoul City Councilor Lee Sang-wook.

The People Power Party will hold an inauguration ceremony for its election committee on the 13th.
