A Chinese trade delegation, engaging in preliminary coordination talks ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China from the 13th to the 15th, arrived in South Korea on the 12th.

Reuters reported that Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua arrived in South Korea through Incheon International Airport on this day.

Li Chenggang, the chief trade negotiator of China and Vice Minister of Commerce, who is the Chinese representative for U.S.-China trade negotiations, also accompanied Vice Premier Hu.

They are scheduled to hold trade negotiations with the U.S. delegation, including Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, on the 13th.

Secretary Mnuchin is scheduled to have dinner and bilateral talks with Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama in Japan today, then visit South Korea on the 13th before heading to Beijing, China.

It is understood that Secretary Mnuchin and Vice Premier Hu have no plans to meet separately with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yun-cheol.

Deputy Prime Minister Koo explained at a press briefing for the Ministry of Economy and Finance today, "This visit is an arrangement to use South Korea as a venue related to the U.S.-China summit," and added, "There will be ample opportunities to talk in the future, and at the moment, we are not arranging meetings with those in urgent need."
