A South Korean national has been arrested in Walker County, Alabama, on suspicion of child sexual abuse.

According to Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith, a Korean foreign national, identified as Ko Mo (24), was arrested after an investigation revealed he had visited Walker County "at least three times" to meet with children.

The charges filed against him include three counts of unlawful travel to meet a child, two counts of rape in the second degree, two counts of sexual assault in the second degree, and one count of enticing a child to a vehicle/residence.

WVTM12 News reported that Ko's indictment also includes allegations of sodomy.

Ko's bond has been set at $250,000.

"This case serves as another reminder of the dangers our children face, both online and offline. Child predators cross state lines and even travel the globe to target children. We urge parents to pay attention to their children's online activities, know who they are communicating with, and report any suspicious activity immediately," Smith said.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) stated that the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) does not go a single day without investigating internet crimes that victimize children.
