Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Thursday vowed to continue pursuing accountability for Dr. Anthony Fauci, holding a hearing that included testimony from a whistleblower regarding the "COVID cover-up."

Dr. Fauci will not face criminal charges for allegedly misleading Congress about gain-of-function research, as he had received a preemptive pardon from former President Joe Biden and the statute of limitations expired on Monday.

Nevertheless, Senator Paul stated he would not hesitate to prosecute him, despite the expiration of the statute of limitations and former President Biden's pardon.

"Today is the deadline to indict Fauci. Otherwise, he will get away with one of the biggest cover-ups in American history without a jury trial," Paul wrote on X on Monday.

"I've been working on this for years. I've referred him to the DOJ, forced hearings and interrogated him under oath. The American people have been lied to about the origins of COVID, gain-of-function research, and the Wuhan cover-up," he wrote.

In another post, he stated that even if the Department of Justice does not prosecute, he will "not let this go."

"In fact, I will be having a whistleblower hearing later this week. Perhaps the American people will finally get the answers they have been looking for," Paul said.

A hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Paul, is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. where a whistleblower will testify regarding the "COVID cover-up."
