U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing, China, on the 13th (local time) to begin a three-day state visit.

China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported that President Trump's presidential plane, Air Force One, landed at Beijing Capital International Airport around 7:49 PM.

High-ranking Chinese officials were present at the airport to welcome President Trump.

This marks the first visit by a U.S. president to China in nine years, since November 2017, during the first term of President Trump's presidency.

In particular, this visit comes amid ongoing tensions between the two countries over tariff disputes, the Taiwan issue, and the Middle East situation, drawing significant international attention.

On the second day of his visit, the 14th, President Trump will hold a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

This will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders in approximately six months, since they met in Busan on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in October of last year.

The two leaders are expected to broadly discuss key issues such as trade and tariffs, as well as matters concerning Taiwan and Iran, during this summit.

Following the summit, President Trump is scheduled to tour the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan) Park in Beijing with President Xi, and later attend a state banquet at the Great Hall of the People in the evening.

On the 15th, the final day of his visit, the two leaders plan to continue further consultations through a small tea gathering and a luncheon.

After concluding his three-day visit to China, President Trump will depart for home.
