Samsung Electronics' labor and management have agreed to hold further talks on the 16th after the management replaced its chief negotiator as requested by the union.

Choi Seung-ho, chairman of the Samsung Group's Super-corporate Union Samsung Electronics Branch (hereinafter referred to as the Super-corporate Union), announced this, stating, "The management's chief negotiator has been replaced (from Vice President Kim Hyung-ro) by Yeo Myung-gu, head of the DS People Team."

He added, "We have been informed that the agenda items are not yet fully prepared," and "Team Leader Yeo Myung-gu is on his way, and we plan to proceed with the meeting."

Vice President Kim Hyung-ro also accepted the request to participate in the mediation without speaking to facilitate understanding of the negotiation process, Choi added.

Regarding Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's public apology, Choi stated, "Employees joined the union because trust with the company was broken. In the case of the DS (Device Solutions) division, with an 85% membership rate, they are virtually all union members and employees." He added, "It may take time to rebuild trust, but we hope for efforts from this negotiation onwards to move forward together."
