Choi Seung-ho, president of the Samsung Group Super Enterprise Labor Union's Samsung Electronics Branch, speaks as he attends the second post-adjustment meeting held at the National Labor Relations Commission in Sejong, May 18. This second post-adjustment meeting, held as the government has hinted at the possibility of invoking emergency adjustment rights, is expected to be the final negotiation three days before the planned general strike. [Yonhap News]
The second post-adjustment meeting by the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) to mediate the Samsung Electronics labor-management wage negotiations began at the NLRC in Sejong Government Complex on the morning of the 18th.
Meeting reporters before entering the meeting, Choi Seung-ho, president of the Samsung Electronics Union's Joint Struggle Headquarters, said, "We have come to post-adjustment. I will say that we will diligently participate in this second post-adjustment as well."
He did not respond to questions about President Lee Jae-myung's remarks that corporate management rights should be respected as much as labor rights.

The management negotiators, Yeo Myung-gu, DS (Device Solutions - semiconductor business) People Team Leader, and Vice President Kim Hyung-ro, who arrived earlier, entered the meeting room without saying anything.
Park Soo-geun, the NLRC chairman serving as the adjustment committee member, said, "I have no comment. I will see you later," before entering.
Chairman Park participated as an adjustment committee member at the request of both labor and management on this day.
Samsung Electronics labor and management, facing a strike on the 21st, entered the second post-adjustment meeting starting today, accepting the request of Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Young-hoon.
Although both sides held consecutive preliminary meetings over the weekend to prepare for this adjustment meeting, there are significant disagreements regarding the transparency and abolition of performance-based bonuses, as well as their institutionalization.
There is no set deadline for the second post-adjustment meeting.
However, considering that only three days remain until the union's announced strike start date, this post-adjustment is considered the de facto final negotiation opportunity.
Amidst this, the labor sector, including the Samsung Electronics union, is protesting as the government has even hinted at invoking emergency adjustment rights to prevent a strike.
