U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that a medical examination he received had gone "perfectly."
"Just finished my semi-annual physical at Walter Reed Medical Center. Everything is in perfect shape. Thank you to the doctors and staff! Great doctors and staff! Heading back to the White House," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as concerns about his health have been raised by some, ahead of his 80th birthday next month. The White House said the visit was for a routine physical and dental examination.
The president has repeatedly dismissed concerns about his age and health, often highlighting that he has performed well on cognitive tests and has maintained a busy public schedule since returning to the White House.
Trump recently stated that he "literally feels like I did 50 years ago."
Saturday's medical examination marked Trump's third visit to Walter Reed in about 13 months and his fourth publicly announced physical since returning to the White House.
Dr. Sean Conley, the president's physician, has consistently described Trump as being in "excellent health" and "completely fit" to discharge his duties as commander-in-chief.
In October 2025, following Trump's physical, Dr. Conley stated that the president's "cardiovascular, pulmonary and neurological functions were all normal, as were his physical exam results."
Supporters have long pointed to Trump's packed campaign rallies, extensive travel, lengthy speeches, and frequent golf outings as evidence of his stamina and endurance, especially compared to former President Joe Biden, whose mental acuity has been a key issue during his 2024 presidential campaign.
However, mainstream media outlets and critics have continued to focus on visible bruises on Trump's hands and intermittent swelling in his legs.
The New York Times reported that White House officials attributed the bruising to frequent handshakes and aspirin use, and doctors had previously revealed that Trump suffered from chronic venous insufficiency, a common circulatory issue among older adults.
The Times also reported that Trump had periodically appeared with a rash on his neck, which aides said was being treated with a prescription cream.
White House officials have vehemently dismissed speculation about the president's health, accusing political opponents and social media critics of spreading misinformation to undermine public confidence in Trump.
Spokeswoman Caroline Levitt previously strongly denounced online rumors about an undisclosed hospital visit as "a patently organized disinformation campaign by left-wing accounts."
Despite the media's continued focus on his age, Trump has remained highly active during his second term, overseeing major initiatives on border security, trade, and foreign policy, according to Newsmax.
