Possibilities are being explored within U.S. government circles for former U.S. Department of Defense Director of Cyber Policy and Security Strategy, John Mills, who visited Korea as part of an international election observation group around the June 3 presidential election, to be appointed as the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

According to a comprehensive report by <한미일보> on the 11th, news of former Director Mills, who directly identified Wang Huning of China as the mastermind behind fraudulent elections worldwide, joining the State Department is rapidly spreading in the U.S. This would be his first known entry into the State Department. After retiring as a U.S. Army Colonel, Mills worked as a cybersecurity expert at departments like the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and was involved in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) projects and the establishment of security-related units for the U.S. Forces Korea.

After completing his activities with the international election observation group and returning to the U.S., Mills revealed at a press conference held at the National Press Club in Washington in June that Wang Huning, Xi Jinping's strategist, was behind the fraudulent elections conducted in South Korea and the United States.

There is also a perceived sentiment in some quarters that he is a suitable candidate for the USAID Director position.

USAID, the U.S. agency for foreign aid, has been undergoing a de facto dissolution process since the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump in January. It was considered a bottomless pit of wasteful spending of American taxpayers' money. Following a large-scale reform initiative led by then-Secretary of the Office of Government Efficiency, Elon Musk, it was downsized and transferred under the State Department.

USAID has also been under scrutiny for alleged collusion with A-WEB (Association of World Election Bodies). The U.S. government remains suspicious that international illicit funds were exchanged between these organizations, supporting the execution of fraudulent elections. It is also an organization that has been the target of comprehensive investigations by the Trump administration's security and investigative agencies.

A-WEB is also suspected of being a forward operating base for pro-China countries worldwide. It was established under the initiative of the National Election Commission of Korea. The location where reports of Chinese spies being arrested emerged was A-WEB's Seoul office, which is registered at the Election Management Training Institute in Suwon according to corporate registration documents. Despite being called the Seoul office, it is located in Suwon, immediately raising suspicions of an intentional attempt to conceal its location.

Some interpret this as being as impactful as appointing former South Korean Prime Minister and former National Assembly member Hwang Kyo-ahn or former National Assembly member Min Kyung-wook, who have dedicated themselves to investigating fraudulent elections in South Korea, as the chairperson of the National Election Commission.

A source from the U.S. told this publication in a phone call on the 10th (Korean time) that "I recently heard from an associate of Colonel Mills that he is facing constraints on his actions because he needs to join the State Department." After returning to the U.S., Mills was actively engaged in press conferences, interviews, and social media activities for a period, but then abruptly halted his public activities. Following reports of the arrest of Chinese spies, and after the Biden administration's spokesperson for U.S. Forces Korea denied these reports as completely false, the new Trump administration's White House issued an immediate social media ban to U.S. Forces Korea, U.S. Forces Japan, and U.S. Forces Hawaii. While the U.S. government cannot control civilians, it can impose certain restrictions on the personal activities of government employees.

Another source also gave weight to the possibility that former Director John Mills and former International Criminal Justice Ambassador Moss-Tan (Korean name Dan Hyun-myung) would join the State Department together. This individual, who has access to White House information, stated, "It is true that I heard from the White House that Ambassador Moss-Tan has returned to the State Department."

Consequently, attention is focused on the future path of those who were active as members of the international election observation group. For now, former Director John Mills appears to be avoiding external contact. <한미일보> attempted to call Mills internationally, but he did not answer. After leaving a voicemail, two more calls were made, but he did not respond.
